Programme – 2023
Applications for our Summer School are now open! Newark Summer School will be held from 5th July until 15th September, Monday to Friday from 8am until 2pm.
Each week we will have a different theme such as The Jungle, Aquatic Animals, Music, Planets etc. Our group of amazing educators are currently working on these themes and preparing lots of fun activities for the students.
Students will have a timetable including English and Maths lessons together with Arts & Crafts, Science Experiments, and other interactive and educational activities.
Should you be interested in applying kindly fill in the attached application form and return it by email to info@newarkschoolmalta.com at your earliest convenience. An invoice will be sent to you which is to be settled to reserve the place for your child.
Kindly note that fees are non-refundable and the cost can be claimed back through your income tax return as an allowable deduction!

Typical themes explored during our summer programme:
Week 1: Life on a Farm
During this week students will learn about what it’s like to live on a farm and learn about different farm animals. Students will understand the role of a farmer and the importance of their work for society.
Week 2: Drama-o-Rama, Theatre
During this week students will practise their acting and public speaking skills whilst learning about the role of actors and other occupations within the media industry.
Week 3: Food Lovers
During this week students will get the opportunity to practise cooking and basic baking. Learning to properly measure ingredients, nutrition lessons and basic food science. Our little chefs will discover the many ways dishes can be both delicious and healthy, whilst also learning more about the role of a chef and other occupations within the culinary industry.
Week 4: Into the Forest
During this week students will learn about the importance of keeping our forests and nature clean, whilst also learning about animals found specifically in forests. The importance of the role forests play in our climate through the various plants, animals and herbs will also be discussed. Additionally, students will learn about the role of a forestry biologist.
Week 5: Let’s Investigate
During this week students will learn the basics of solving problems through investigations. Cracking codes, solving puzzles and learning through real-life cases. Special activities will take place through which students will develop teamwork and critical thinking. Additionally, students will learn about the role of an investigator and crime detectives.
Week 6: Music is in Everything
During this week students will be exposed to various genres of music which supports cognitive, social and emotional development. Students will get the opportunity to form a small school band whilst learning about the work that goes into creating music and putting up a concert.
Week 7: Mysterious Ocean
During this week, students will explore the ocean and all its wonders, whilst learning about the importance of keeping our oceans clean and plastic-free. Besides that they will learn about different sea animals, fish and plants. The role of a marine-biologist will be discussed.
Week 8: To Infinity and Beyond
During this week, students will explore the deep space by learning all about planets, meteors, climate change and many other topics. Science-based activities will be organised and students will also learn about what it’s like to be a scientist.
Week 9: Wild, Wild West
During this week, students will transform into cowboy and cowgirls, whilst learning enjoying activities and educational games with the wild west theme. Students will learn about various historical events and explore the sheriff and police officer occupations.
Week 10: Witches and Wizards
During this week, students will dress up as wizards and witches, create potions and craft their own wands, learn a few simple magic tricks and perform them for their families and friends.
