Programme – 2024
Applications for our Summer School are now open! Newark Summer School will be held from 8th July until 13th September, Monday to Friday from 8am until 3pm.
Students will have a timetable including English and Maths lessons together with Arts & Crafts, Science Experiments, and other interactive and educational activities.
Parents interested in enrolling their children for the summer school are kindly asked to fill in the application form and return it by email to info@newarkschoolmalta.com at your earliest convenience. An invoice will be sent to you which is to be settled to reserve the place for your child.
Kindly note that fees are non-refundable and the cost can be claimed back through your income tax return as an allowable deduction!
We encourage parents who are interested to reserve your child’s place as soon as possible since places are very limited.
Themes which are planned for our summer programme are as follows:
- Space Explorers:
Students will embark on an intergalactic journey, participating in space-themed crafts like creating their own alien masks and building rockets. They’ll explore the solar system through planet painting, engage in astronaut training obstacle courses. The week will culminate in a cosmic celebration, where young space explorers showcase their newfound knowledge of the universe.
- Under the Sea:
Dive into the deep blue with a week of undersea adventures! Students will engage in hands-on activities such as seashell art, creating fishy friends, and crafting underwater scenes. They’ll learn about marine life through interactive games, participate in a pretend submarine adventure, and culminate the week with an under-the-sea party featuring ocean-themed crafts and activities.
- Dinosaur Discovery:
Travel back in time to the age of dinosaurs! Young palaeontologists will dig for fossils, create dino habitats, and embark on a dino egg hunt. Through dinosaur-themed arts and crafts, students will unleash their creativity, bringing prehistoric creatures to life. The week concludes with a roar-some celebration, where students showcase their dinosaur knowledge and discoveries.
- Sports Extravaganza:
Get ready for a week of active fun and friendly competition! Students will explore various sports, from soccer and relay races to team-building activities. They’ll participate in mini-Olympics, sports-themed crafts, and enjoy a sports day filled with laughter and teamwork. This week promotes physical fitness, sportsmanship, and a love for an active lifestyle.
- Pirates & Mermaids:
Set sail for Pirates & Mermaids Week, where students become swashbuckling pirates and enchanting mermaids. Activities include treasure hunts and pirate ship crafting. Students will create their own pirate costumes, learn sea shanties, and engage in magical mermaid-themed activities.
- Farm Life Fun:
Experience the charm of farm life with hands-on activities like planting seeds, caring for farm animals, and crafting barnyard-inspired art. Students will explore the importance of farming, sustainability, and healthy living. The week includes farm-to-table experiences, where students learn about the journey of food from the farm to their plate, fostering an appreciation for agriculture.
- Fantasy Kingdom:
Enter a magical realm of knights, dragons, and princesses! Students will participate in medieval-themed activities, such as castle building, dragon crafts, and fairy-tale storytelling. Knight training sessions and royal feasts add a touch of enchantment to the week. The Fantasy Kingdom celebration will showcase the creative and imaginative achievements of young adventurers.
- Mini Master Chefs:
Aspiring chefs will don their aprons for a week of culinary exploration! Students will learn kitchen basics, experiment with flavours, and craft their own culinary masterpieces. Activities include decorating cupcakes, creating edible art, and even organizing a mini cooking competition. The week concludes with a delicious showcase where students share their tasty creations.
- Wild Wild West:
Saddle up for a rootin’ tootin’ week in the Wild Wild West! Students become cowboys and cowgirls, participating in rodeo-inspired games, lasso practice, and gold rush adventures. Western-themed crafts and activities immerse students in the frontier lifestyle.
- Music Mania:
Get ready for a week of musical exploration! Students will try their hand at various musical instruments, explore different genres, and engage in musical performances. Activities include crafting homemade instruments, participating in a musical talent show, and learning about the world of music. The week concludes with an end-of-Summer School class party, filled with music and celebration.
